“Fate is the magnetic pull of our souls toward the people, places, and things we belong with.”

To be honest, I don’t like how this book turned out. I love the first two books (to the point that I bought physical copies even though they cost too much for a thin book) and I was sad that this last book seemed to be a disappointment to me.
This book is the continuation of Silas and Charlie’s adventure of finding the answer on why every after 2 days, their memories were erased. But this time, it is only that Charlie who forgets. It also puzzled Silas as to why his memories retain while Charlie continuously forgets. And so, they look for answers and discovers something bigger than what they thought would be.

I don’t know if I can make a book review without spoiling anybody. So yuppp, a- *spoiler alert, though I’m not sure if this is a legit spoiling lol* would be necessary. I thought that this book has something to do with mystery or something supernatural but then it turns out that if you mess with Fate or Destiny, you’ll end up having a short-term-memory-for-like-two-days-only. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of the idea of Fate, I actually like to think that some things happen to us because it’s destined. But would it be that easy to find your soulmate once you mess up with Fate? I mean, if you break up with someone and then you lost your memory, then you’d know that the person you broke up with is your soulmate and then you’ll try to figure things out and make it okay again because you both know that you’re soulmate. I don’t like it. I don’ like that you won’t try to win the person again and again because you both know that you’re destined. Whatever, I just don’t like the idea of messing up with fate and all. It seems a little shallow to me knowing that it’s a Hoover-Fisher book. Maybe I expected too much, and you know the saying that the more you expect, the bigger the disappointment.

Anyway, I still admire the uniqueness of this book. Some of the scenes were a little unexpected, and revelations too. But I also feel that this book was a little rushed. Like some parts were just left behind, and weren’t further explained.

The bottomline? Though I’m disappointed in this last book, I wouldn’t regret reading Never Never and one of my fave OTPs would be Silas and Charlie baby. 😉
